Becoming the heroes of our own stories

Our Philosophy
Every human being has a “story”-- also known as our narrative--that shapes our lives. Whether consciously or unconsciously, our "story" determines how we show the world who we think we are. Whether it's is one of empowerment (where we are the hero destined to succeed) or of victimhood (where we are always doomed to lose), our stories usually determine how our lives play out, including how others treat us.

We all need to feel seen, heard, and validated for all parts of our authentic character, but oftentimes we lose sight of our stories. Or let them become hijacked by others who try to force our characters fit into their stories.
But when we become more aware of our stories, we have the power to direct them. And when our stories change, we change. We no longer have to be the victim, the villain, the sidekick, or the foil. Just like how Spider-Man went from a struggling spider-bite victim to the superhero of the Marvel Universe. He flipped his script!

We created "Flipping the Script", a workbook that uses the books as tools to help us examine our lives from new perspectives, reclaim our authentic narratives, and become the heroes of our own stories.

Flipping the Script Workbook
Our workbook teaches teens how books can become tools that help us examine our lives from new perspectives, see our challenges and opportunities in exciting new ways, and add meaning and purpose to our very existence.
For the next ten months, we will be bringing our workbook and program to youth groups in India and China as we reconnect with our birth cultures, reclaim our narratives, and further research how stories can empower the world's children.
We are offering the "Flipping the Script" PDF workbook as a free resource in exchange for donations in support of our research and mission.
